7th May – Hempsted School and Village Fete
CHANGE OF DATE FOR SCHOOL FETE
To tie in with village celebrations, the date of the School Fete has changed to SUNDAY 7th MAY (instead of the bank holiday Monday 8th advertised in the newsletter) please do get the new date in your diary! We look forward to celebrating the King’s Coronation with the wider village as well as the School on this weekend.
Second hand uniform sale
We were thrilled to have received a good number of uniform pieces, thank you so much for these. We had a limited uptake on people needing uniform on this occasion, but still feel that this will be a useful service to provide. So…we will hold on to the uniform and have a stall at the upcoming fete and again in the summer term for you to have ready for the inevitable summer holiday growth spurt! If you have any items in the meantime, please do give them to your class rep and we will add them to the other items. We are in particular need of bigger sizes so if there are any juniors outgrowing things (and have no younger siblings coming up behind them!) we’d absolutely love them!
Christmas Movie Nights
We enjoyed two film nights at the end of term and raised £380 from the attendance and sweet buying! We want to say a big thank you to Lidl for providing the popcorn for the event! It was very yummy and the children enjoyed it thoroughly!
Also a big thank you to the Friends who came and helped on the night, manning popcorn, sweets, taking children to toilets and cleaning up a couple (that is a small understatement!) of spills. We are also very grateful to the staff who also stayed and made it possible. We look forward to doing this again, watch this space!
Nativity coffee mornings
We really enjoyed hosting the coffee mornings on the 3 mornings before the Infant Nativities particularly given it was a very cold week and the playground would have been very chilly! Again thank you for your support. We made just over £60 which is brilliant considering we weren’t planning this to be a fundraising event. Thanks again to the Friends who helped with serving tea and coffee.
